Hi Robert! Thanks for your patience while we reviewed your application. I've been busy the last few days so I'm running a little behind in my duties, but I’m happy to announce that we’ve decided to accept you into our guild! Message myself or another office in-game for an invite.
You may wish to join our Facebook group at the page below, but this is entirely option:
If you have any questions regarding your trial, please feel free to ask. Also, please note that if you need to take time away from the game at any point during your trial it is important that you inform an officer as soon as possible so that this does not adversely affect your trial.
I've now seen a few videos from Carrie, and would like to retract my application.... JUST KIDDING!
I went through the rules and the rest of the forums, as well as the WoWprogress website, before I've made the Application.
Had to check if you had anything suspicious there...
Even though I did my share of Mythic raiding, it was always progress motivated.
We were trying to "kill the next boss", and this road took us from HC to M.
I don't mind if we progress in Heroic or Normal, as long as we are not stuck on one difficulty after clearing it with ease in 2 nights
When it comes to breaks I don't mind putting raids aside for a while,
if everyone is stressed out and frustrated this game stops being funny and becomes tedious,
and at this point might as well stay longer at work and do some juicy overtime...
As I've mentioned before, I'm am mainly a PvE player,
doing everything from raids to transmog runs and "Elephant Trains in Orgrimmar".
I don't mind an occasional "Cyber Sesh", if you catch my drift...
My favourite spec is an interesting one!
For a short period in 2011, there was an interesting option open for all Enhancement shamans.
Due to scaling changes, Flametongue Weapon had a flat scaling with Spellpower, that didn't look at the weapon speed at all.
This meant it was viable (and very beneficial) for an Enh shaman to dual wield extremely fast caster daggers with Spellpower,
using Flametongue on both.
This was patched out very quickly, normalised to use a flat 4.0 speed for Flametongue,
but for a short, glorious time I was the Number 1 damage dealer on Defias Brotherhood, and top 100 in Europe :)
Hi Robert! Thank you very much for applying. As part of your application if you could have a quick look over our rules and let me know if you have any questions. They can be found here:
As you've perhaps gathered from the others that have already posted, we take quite a relaxed approach to raiding with an emphasis on enjoying ourselves and not burning out. That means occasionally taking a break and not stressing if we spend longer than other guilds might on a particular boss. The Coven of Shivarra are a good example of this, as we hit a bit of a wall and found that a lot of our raiders were pretty tired from playing quite constantly for most of the expansion. Taking a break meant we came back refreshed and we downed the Coven shortly after returning before moving on to clear the remainder of the bosses. For us as a guild, the most important thing in raiding is persistence and to support each other while we fight our way through each raid, even if it takes us a bit longer to do so.
At the end of the day our aim for raiding is usually to try and clear each raid on Heroic difficulty with the aim of achieving the Curve achievement each tier/expansion. At present we don't intend to pursue Mythic raiding as we've previously found it's not something that appeals to a large group of our members, though we're always open to revisiting the subject in future.
Anyway, on to questions: what is your favourite class/spec in the game, even if it's one you don't play? Also, our guild runs a lot of events other than raiding such as achievement/transmog runs, seasonal events etc. What sort of events would you be interested in attending, even if it's perhaps something we don't do at the moment? You'll find more info on our events/projects here:
Anyway, best of luck with your application! We'll be in touch soon.
Gnomes suck! (except for warriors, with pink pony tails...)
Before coming back to WoW I had a look on the forums and Preach videos, to see which classes/specs look the most interesting.
A few years ago I started getting the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, so any class that requires a lot of spamming was a no-go,
which meant I couldn't go back to Enhancement nor the DPS warrior.
I've decided to have a change, and instead of picking another melee I thought I will try a ranged class this time.
Hunter looked very decent, being easy to play & easy to master, not very spammy as well as giving an option of going melee if needed.
I don't really care for the hunter fantasy, more important for me is the ability to solo World Bosses with the clefthoof tanking :)
Outside of games and work I very much enjoy the History, both ancient and recent.
Every country places the emphasis on their own history, so a lot of it isn't taught at school.
Though the magic of the internet we are now able too look at events from different angles, which I'm trying to take advantage of.
For example, recently I've learned that Hitler's invasion of Russia, and the Operation Fall Blau, was oil motivated,
which technically makes it the first ever "War For Oil".
I've also learned that the UK Moors are the results of humans de-foresting massive areas of the Bronze/Stone Age Britain,
and now every time I go to Dartmoor I'm on a lookout for those 5000 year old remnants of villages.
Polish and British cultures are very similar, because they developed in very similar conditions.
Now with the Pop Culture being easily accessible for anyone interested, you could say that they are essentially the same.
The biggest difference would be with the drivers being VERY aggressive in Poland,
and people working in stores being unhelpful and rude :P
Especially with more expensive stores, some of the sales people behave like they were co-owners of Prada.
This has recently started to change, with people coming back from Europe, having experienced a decent Customer Service :)
Hi Robert! Happy to see your application and that the guild seems to fit your bill.
I'll shoot some questions:
1. What's your reasoning for picking a BM hunter?
2. Apart from work and games, what are some of your other hobbies?
3. What is the most noticeable difference between Polish and English culture?
4. Why aren't you a gnome?
5. Dog pics plz.
Hi Kaliroth, thank you fr coming back to me so quickly!
No problem, I am happy to answer any questions you might have :)
Truth is that as I'm getting older I get more laid back than i used to be (and I was always very "chill").
I don't mind wiping on one boss for a few nights in a row, nor the guild taking breaks from official raiding.
That gives time to catch a breath, level up some alts, or grind a new frame in the Warframe ;)
On the other hand, I've experienced a few times in the past where people were getting burned out,
so we had to push hard for a kill before people lose the motivation completely.
I even "voice controlled" a healer once, telling her where and how to move on the first Mythic Malkorok kill.
Thanks very much for your application
So as you'll be aware, the next stage is that we ask you questions! But I see you've already viewed that as a good thing so that's positive.
I just wanted to ask a question in relation to a point you made. You noted the gap we had between Varimathras and Coven. The explanation for that is we took a brief break from raiding as some people were burning out. We also, admittedly, did struggle on Coven for a while (they were quite hard for us). I just wondered, are you someone who would be ok if the guild took the occasional few weeks break from raiding? The raiding falls under our 'project' system so we sometimes review it, just to take stock and make sure everyone is happy and nobody is burned out.
As you noted, once everyone came back refreshed we destroyed the rest of Antorus :D
Good luck with the application.

Main Character: Name, Class and spec:
Ygrish, Beast Mastery/ Survival Hunter
Real name and age:
Location and time zone:
Torquay, Devon, UK
As a guild we pride ourselves on our friendly community. Tell us a bit about you as a person outside of the game?:
My name is Robert, and I'm a Raid'o'holic...
I moved to UK 10 years ago from Poland,
a few years ago i bought a house, where I live with my girlfriend and 2 dogs (Maltese, boy and girl).
I work for an international technology corporation as a sales administrator, which I promise is more exciting than it sounds.
Last week i was called a "Soul of the Office" at work, so you could say I'm pretty likeable...
I like cracking silly jokes, and thrive on chaotic and random situations for my humour.
The company I currently work for employs ~200 people,
and I was on a friendly basis with most of them in my first week of working here.
Which sort of projects and events would you be interested in participating in?:
I am primarily a PVE player, with Raids and Mythic+ in mind.
I gank lowbies occasionally, but consider the War Mode to be the best idea since toilet paper.
When it first came out I used to play HotS a lot,
reaching rank 10 in the old, and Plat (i believe) in the new Ranking System
What made you apply to join this guild? What is it about us that attracted you and what do you want from us as a guild?:
The Seven Serpents is a Social AND Raiding guild, which is exactly what I'm looking for.
Additionally, you have a website and actually ask people questions before you invite them to the guild.
As well s having a trial period, this proves that you are serious about finding people who will make a good fit,
instead of just pumping up the numbers. You are a medium sized guild with about 30 people in it,
which means everyone is someone, and not just lost in an ocean of faces.
Additionally, in the previous trier you have made a decent progress on Heroic,
although the two month gap between Varimathras and The Coven of Shivarra looks a bit weird.
When you got back to it you have managed to clear the place in a week,
so I'm guessing either someone important has quit, or you took a break.
How did you hear about us?:
I was looking for a Social Raiding Guide for a while now, to kick back and clear some Heroics with,
and I have found your Post on the official Argent Dawn Forums.
If you are interested in our raiding project, what sort of raiding experience do you have?:
Any extra raiding comments? Have you raided in a previous expansion?:
I started playing WoW in late Burning Crusade on Defias Brotherhood,
just in time to experience the Zombie Apocalypse. In WotLK I was a part of a great guild called The Secret Society, who I did 25 mans and 10 mans, all the way from Naxx to Icecrown. In Cataclysm we've raided everything up to Firelands, where i took a break.
I came back for the MoP, which was my favourite expansion so far. Due to the lack of tanks I have switched from Enhancement Shaman to a Protection Warrior, and Main Tanked the Throne of Thunder and Siege of Orgrimmar.
We were pushing Mythics, and I guess I burned out a bit, because Warlords and Legion were almost complete write-offs for me. At the same time the guild fell apart due to people quitting, and that exacerbated the problem.
At the end of Legion there were talks about putting the guild back together on the Argent Dawn,
so I used up my character boost to level up a hunter, unfortunately only a few people decided they want to raid, hence me looking for a new guild.
Hit me up if you have other questions, otherwise have a good day!
