With the success of the recent Trivial Pursuit event I've had a few people ask if I will be repeating the event again. I'm up for doing this but also want to see if there is interest in doing boardgame stuff on a monthly basis! I have two games on my shelf that I think will adapt to a streaming setup:
Dixit is a card game where one person plays as a storyteller and gives a clue - it could be anything from a phrase, a word, an emotion, pretty much anything. In the original rules each player takes turns playing the storyteller, each player presents a card with their own interpretation of the story and points are awarded to whoever gets their card voted on.
I'm planning on adapting the rules slightly so that I will play as the storyteller throughout. I will tell my story/clue and then present several cards which you will need to pick from. If you can figure out which card is mine then you will score a point and if you don't guess the right one then I will score a point. People can choose to play this competitively or cooperatively depending on if everyone votes individually or collectively.
Mysterium is sort of Dixit 2.0 (or if Dixit had an ominous murder theme) and I find it more fun than Cluedo personally. In this game one person plays as a ghost who provides clues to the rest of the players to figure out a murder. There are 3 things to figure out and solve the murder - the murder weapon, the murder location and the murderer themselves. The game takes place over 7 rounds and each round I will provide a clue for whichever phase you are up to. I can't communicate with you in any other way than with the cards I give you. Again, this one can be played competitively or cooperatively as we can each have each person solving their own murder or working together to solve a case.
Trivial Pursuit - Warcraft edition
Happy to repeat this one again.
Oh wow I'd love to play both of those games, I've watched the Tabletop versions of those games and they look amazing fun! (Dixit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6UlbxeDE0w
I would also like to suggest Settlers of Catan (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=229YC84oLMc), as long as i can figure out how to do the live streaming thing from Phil ;-P
At some point I am getting Dice Forge, but I'm not 100% sure how that will translate online, which is a damned shame as it is super fun to play lol.
