Thanks for your application Taroik. I've ran the boardgame events in the past and we've just had our guild event discussion and it seems like people are interested in doing more so you are in luck!

Here are some of the games we've ran:

Trivial Pursuit: WoW edition

Dixit - video has no audio because I'm stupid...

Mysterium and Goblin Quest

What sort of games are you interested in?

I've tried experimenting with livestreaming via webcam (with a real boardgame) and using digital online tools such as Roll20.

Mysterium looks really interesting. I like the Cluedo through cards idea. I do like my general knowledge games as well. Used to play, 'Scene it', every year at Christmas, and general Trivial Pursuits. So yeah a WoW edition sounds awesome :D

Hi Richard

I agree this was a very good application, amusing to read and I think we're getting a good sense of your personality.

We encourage our guild members to ask questions of all new applicants, so please don't be put off.

My questions are:

  1.  What do you think of Battle for Azeroth expansion so far? What are your favourite bits, and least liked bits?

  2. If you were only able to play one board game ever again, which would you pick?

  3. What song is guarunteed to get you singing/air guitaring/dancing along to?

Best of luck with your application

Carrie

No worries, strap yourself in! That sounded weird, anyway:

1. Overall I honestly think it's a mixed bag. On one hand the levelling is really good, the quest zones stories all tie together really well.  I think this is some of the best levelling Wow's ever had.The raiding and dungeons are also pretty good, although there is a tendency for mob inflation.

On the other the GCD stuff, some of the content, (Island Expeditions), feels mandatory but unfinished, the loot changes are terrible, most of the WQ's stuff but you know I'm still playing ;P

2. Oh Heroquest by a mile, loved that game growing up, That or Warhammer Quest, (no shutup pick one), okay Heroquest it is!

3. I do an incredible club signer rendition of Belinda Carlise, 'Heaven is a Place on Earth', (for reference this is club singing, ala Vic Reeves https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3i2xnMnGKAQ), , my version is so powerful that it requires a charge up time and has been known to reduce those who hear it to tears......that's probably not a good thing ;)

Hey Richard, thanks for your application.

It looks like you've jumped right in and already taken a look at the projects/ events available or that we've previously run which is great!

My questions to you are:

Who is your favourite comic book character and why?

What is your most memorable moment during your time playing WoW?

Thanks, and best of luck with your application!

 Righto well,

Comic book character would have to be Batman, because he's Batman! :P Honestly it depends on the writers/art so it does change. The recent Batman stuff is pretty good though. I've always had a soft spot for Deadpool and Spiderman but mostly Spiderman on the Bendis Avengers run. Comic relief is always welcome :P

Hmmm there's been a few, I suppose killing Ilidan and Arthas on heroic was pretty awesome, just because of the effort. But I suppose the most memorable for me was on my Paladin and going for the first time to Ironforge. Running from Stormwind all the way there, through the wetlands and so on. Back in the vanilla days the whole scale of the place just seemed breath taking to me, I remember distinctly being amazed by those massive LOTResque statues just past the Stonewrought Pass. Ah to be young,(er), again :D

Hey Kendre!

I do like a bit of Doctor Who, although I must admit I preferred it with David Tennent and Christopher Eccelstone. Not sure on the new series, too many companions for me, should just have Bradley Walsh :D

It's early days though and two Saturday's before story was good. What do you think?

Hey Richard, thanks for your application; I love it!

Board game nights are so much fun! There’s always some weird abstract game we play or sometimes an old classic!

Are you into doctor who? What do you think of the new series if you are?

The application submitted by Hyperfish is as follows:

Main Character: Name, Class and spec:
Taroik, Paladin, Retribution I can do other things as well!

Armory link:
https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/character/argent-dawn/Taroik

Real name and age:
Taroik is my real name but legally I'm called Richard and I'm 36 but I look 13

Location and time zone:
The United Kingdom of United Essex. Time zone is fake tan, I mean GMT+1

As a guild we pride ourselves on our friendly community. Tell us a bit about you as a person outside of the game?:
I'm a wonderful person, full of happy feelings and lovely trousers! I have my own eyebrows and hair, which are worn out at best, and I collect pictures of lampposts in my spare time!

Well maybe not, :D I'm a slightly middle aged man with two midgets, (apparently there children), I like football, rugby and general sci-fi/fantasy silliness.

I have a weakness for comics as I used to work in that industry, no I don't wear Hawaiian shirts!

Which sort of projects and events would you be interested in participating in?:
Just for sheer curiosity I'd like to try out the Board Game night, seems like a fun concept and since my youth I've always loved board gaming! I'm also interested in the Mythic stuff and Achievement hunting!

What made you apply to join this guild? What is it about us that attracted you and what do you want from us as a guild?:
I really like the concept of the guild, it seems like a project platform that can evolve in different directions and that excites me. Also it seems very welcoming and since I moved most of my toons over in Bfa, (due to a guild collapse on Argent Dawn), I do miss that aspect of finding new friends, taking on challenges together and succeeding together. I would say you remind of an old school community but it doesn't seem that way, you have different ideas about brining people together and I find that really cool. Go you guys :D

How did you hear about us?:
Forums of the Dawn of Argent

If you are interested in our raiding project, what sort of raiding experience do you have?:
Heroic difficulty

Any extra raiding comments? Have you raided in a previous expansion?:
I've raided since Vanilla, but most of my high end stuff started in BC onwards. Mostly heroic stuff but bits and bobs of Mythic. I know my toon on AD is 110 but I'm sort of ignored since I moved most of my guys to Silvermoon, chasing the raiding pink elephant. It hasn't worked out well, lack of community for me really, though I have plnety of experience in Uldir heroic. I'd like to join on my Paladin but can provide a warrior if required. Umm arrivederci!
